Agriculture bank for launch

For years the government has been urged to help farmers have access to affordable loans and inputs

Dar es Salaam. Despite the fact that agriculture is Tanzania’s economic mainstay, its financing is still a challenge with recent data showing that commercial banks are reducing their loans to the sector.

The Tanzania Agriculture Development Bank (TADB) will start issuing loans next week with Iringa-based small scale farmers being the first beneficiaries.
