AUDIO: Sudanese painter on art on envelopes

One of the few universities of the visual and performing arts in Africa, in Mali, managed to keep going despite the political turmoil and threats from Islamist militants of the past two years, as the BBC Manuel Toledo reports.

Archan Nair is a self taught visual artist who’s into mixed media, paintings, digital and graphic art. Nair has been an independent artist since 2007 and has worked with all sorts of companies such as NIke, Sony, Canon, GQ and Vanity fair.

It is a wonderful thing to see yourself grow. From a boy sitting inside the house making rough sketches of things you see on a piece of paper out of passion to draw, to a young man whose name is known beyond the borders of the country.
