Candidates blame MP’s salary ‘gift’ to ward officers for loss

After a spirited campaign against China and other Asian countries for fuelling wanton killing of endangered animals in Africa for their highly prized trophies, it has now emerged that poor control in the European Union (EU) was equally to blame for the carnage.

Bumbuli District Council is facing a serious shortage of ward and village executive officers (WEOs and VEOs), it has been said.

Executive officers in some wards of Tarime District have received letters requiring them to explain why they should not be punished for failing to meet President Jakaya Kikwete’s November 30 deadline of constructing science laboratories in public secondary schools.

After 2 years of selfless service, I realized that I had not been promoted, no salary increment, no commendation.

So I decided to walk up to my HR Manager. The manager looked at me, smiled and asked me to sit down saying: “My friend you have not worked here for even a single day.”

I was shocked to hear this !!!, but the manager went on to explain, and here’s the conversation that took place.

Manager: How many days are there in a year?

Me: 365 days and sometimes 366.
