>I  know from personal experience and recorded History that secondhand clothing has been routinely imported into this country from the end of World War II (1939-45). The natives just loved British Army surplus-wear, including especially greatcoats, ‘ma-Joho,’ which reached to the shins, and could be worn with nothing under like shirts, vests, underpants, trousers!
