Ethiopia to host 2014 Cecafa Cup

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania has been picked as host nation for the 2015 Council of East and Central Africa (Cecafa) Kagame Club Cup in July while Rwanda will stage the Senior Challenge Cup in November.

Rwanda will host the 2015 Council for Eastern and Central Africa Football Association Senior Challenge Cup.

The Council for East and Central African Football Associations cancels the 2014 Senior Challenge Cup after failing to find a host.

There seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel as far as the 2014 Cecafa Senior Challenge is concerned.

The 40Th Edition of  the The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations, (CECAFA)-KAGAME Club Cup Championship draws took place in Kigali Capital City, Rwanda this Friday with CECAFA, FERWAFA, SUPPERSPORT and Top Government officials witnessing the ceremony.

The New Vision [Uganda] of this Friday November 28, 2014 has run a news story on Page 49 titled ‘CECAFA SHOW OFF’ under which the author indicated that this year’s CECAFA edition won’t take place.

As much as the author doesn’t clearly indicate the source of his information for the alleged call-off of the regional event, he somewhere claims to have spoken to me yesterday [Thursday] which never happened.

I therefore wish to clarify as follows:
