European Union, EAC talks on right track: diplomat

>A top US diplomat will join East African Heads of State in Dar es Salaam today as regional mediation efforts take centre stage to diffuse the growing political crisis in Burundi over President Pierre Nkurunziza’s bid for a third term.

European and African ministers have been meeting in Rome to discuss ways to deal with heavy migration between the two continents.

European Commission president to attend meeting with African Union  Prensa Latina

A few weeks after President Kikwete announced to the international community that Tanzania was ready for military offensive to neutralise Hutu rebels in eastern Congo, European Union Foreign Affairs Council on Monday called for immediate action to that end.

19 March 2015, Dar-es-Salaam – To bring urgently needed assistance to the victims of the hail storms that hit Shinyanga region earlier this month, the European Commission is providing humanitarian funding through Tanzania Red Cross Society.
Up to 5,000 people were affected by the storms, 3,500 of whom have been uprooted from their damaged or destroyed houses. Strong winds ripped off roofs, killing 47 people and injuring 112, the majority of whom were children.
