Finance EA development projects, private sector told

The government is calling on the private sector to help fund research and development (R&D) programmes, as finance continues to drop. The government has struggled to allocate one per cent of the Gross Domestic Product to R&D, according to Prof Makame Mbarawa.

The government is all set to partner with the private sector in major infrastructure projects. Transport Minister Samuel Sitta told Parliament yesterday that working with the private sector was the only way to go if the government wanted to achieve its long-held dream of putting up major infrastructure projects.
