Four killed as bus collides with train

Seventeen passengers were killed on the spot as 56 others escaped with injuries yesterday after a bus coming from Mpwapwa heading to Dar es Salaam collided head-on with a lorry in Kongwa District.

Five people died on the spot and 39 others were injured after a bus veered off the road and overturned at Manga Village in Handeni District, Tanga Region yesterday.

The driver of the bus tried to escape but was arrested. He is being held in police custody and is expected to be charged in court with the offence.
