Govt to control sugar imports

Sugar imports will continue to bridge the gap between demand and supply, Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives minister Stephen Wassira says.

Tanzania has been commended for its commitment to implementing its economic programme but the executive board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) also warns that the pressure of additional fiscal expenditures is putting that stability at stake.
