>The next general election is, if all goes as planned, just one year ahead. Several people, especially in the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi, have openly or given indications that they are set to test a presidential race. The number of people, including those who are not expected to do so, may come forward to announce that they want to be entrusted with this top leadership post to lead the country from the State House.
