JK: Freedom of information Act ready in 2015
>President Jakaya Kikwete said on Wednesday, in London, that Tanzania will have a freedom of information law by February 2015. The President flew into the UK for the Open Government Partnership (OGP) forum from New York, where he was attending the ongoing United Nations General Assembly.

The much-awaited Right to Information bill will be tabled in the National Assembly for the first time in November this year, President Jakaya Kikwete has declared.
Work on the bill started in 2007 with the government receiving views from various stakeholders.
Since then, the draft bill has remained on the shelves with the government only giving promises on the tabling of the bill together with the other one on Media Service.
