JK warns authorities over development funds abuse

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa warned yesterday that the government will instantly take disciplinary measures against any local government executive director found misusing public funds.

The MCC Board of directors said in its quarterly meeting held on Thursday that if Tanzania combats corruption by 2016 the board will vote on a new compact that will see Tanzania receiving $472.8 million (Sh992.8 billion) designed to increase access to reliable electricity, strengthen utilities and utility management.
