Bunge’s Public Accounts team saddened by Zitto resignation

Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) deputy chairman Deo Filikunjombe has said the decision by the body’s former chairman Zitto Kabwe to relinquish his seat in Parliament on Friday night was a big blow. “His departure will surely leave us divided, because he was a brother, father and a dedicated man in ensuring that the interests of the nation came first before anything else,” said Mr Filikunjombe.

EALA has today debated and adopted the Report of the Committee on the Audited Accounts of the EAC for the Year ended 30th June 2014.

A significant portion of the 41.6 tonnes of illicit elephant tusks seized in 2013 came from Tanzania. A report released by Interpol's environmental Security Unit says the seizures represent an increase in the cases of elephant poaching throughout Africa.
