LAKE ZONE: Sons accused of killing their own father

>A Standard Two pupil at Kakubilo Primary School aged ten (name withheld) was allegedly defiled by her own father over 40 days ago, it was revealed yesterday.

>Land dispute is raging between National Service (JKT), Mtabila camp and neighbouring villages after the army allegedly prohibited farmers from cultivating   their farms.

>A resident of Sima Village, Sima Ward in Sengerema District, Faida Iddi, 45, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his own son.  Mwanza Regional Police Commander, Valentino Mlowela, confirmed the incident, saying his officials were investigating the matter before taking the suspect to court.  “Among the things we are investigating is establishing whether the suspect is mentally fit or insane,” said the police boss.

>Brutal killings of elderly people have been reported in the Lake Zone ahead of the festive season, The Citizen has learnt.

Kagera. Local residents are asking the government to speed up the implementation of a project to hook up Lake and Central Zones to a safe water reservoir at Lake Victoria.
