[Port Louis, Mauritius]  JUNE 5th 2015, the Indian Ocean island nation of Mauritius made history when Ameenah Gurib-Fakim became its first woman President. The election of Gurib-Fakim who is a scientist was necessitated by the May 29th 2015 resignation of President Rajkeswur Purryag.
