Mbelwa takes Mashali’s spot for UBO fight

Thomas Mashali is the new Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) Africa light-heavyweight champion.

Tanzania’s professional boxing scene, once again, has had an opportunity to wallow in the limelight as renowned super middleweight boxers, Japhet Kaseba and Thomas Mashali, are expected to clash in a Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO)-sanctioned International Light Heavyweight title bout in the division on March 29.

Thomas Mashali will put his Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) Africa middleweight belt on the line when he takes to the ring for a fight against Ibrahim Tampa today. The 10-round fight will take place at the National Stadium from 6pm.

Allan Kamote, one of the professional boxers in the country, will go into the ring for a date with Malawian Osgood Kayuni vying for the vacant Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) lightweight world title.
