Mwanza volleyball league tips off today

It is no secret that volleyball has been struggling to attract attention from sports lovers in Mwanza the same way other sports disciplines, which have fallen into the category of less favourite games, do.

An important development in promotion of volleyball in Tanzania is set to be witnessed in Mwanza next month, when the region hosts the inaugural regional volleyball league.

Bismarck opened their Mwanza Regional Volleyball League campaign by recording a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Ukerewe at the MTC ground on Saturday.

Tanzania Amateur Volleyball Association (Tava) is optimistic that the supervision of volleyball junior development programme will garner a tremendous boost following the completion of a recent African Volleyball Confederation national coaches’ course in Dar es Salaam.

Tanzania Amateur Volleyball Association (Tava) has planned to open four centres of excellence early next year with a view to unearthing talents that will take the country to greater heights in volleyball.

Parliament of Rwanda is through to the finals of the Volleyball tournament where they shall meet with Parliament of Kenya.
Today, Parliament of Rwanda beat EALA by 2 sets to 0 in the first semi-finals of the match played at the Amahoro Petite Stade.   Rwanda took the first set 25-20 and followed the feat winning 25-16 in the second set.
EALA finished on top of Group A while Kenya took first place in Group B.
