Niger says nine military officers arrested over ‘coup plot’

Niger's President Mahamadou Issoufou says his government has foiled a coup plot and made a number of arrests, amid tensions ahead of next year's election.

A military tribunal in Burkina Faso has begun investigating eight persons in connection with the September 17, 2015 aborted coup, sources said Sunday.
