Nigerian city hit by multiple blasts

Three explosions hit a mosque in Maiduguri, the birthplace of the militant group Boko Haram, with unconfirmed reports of casualties.

Multiple explosions were heard Sunday on the outskirts of Maiduguri, a city in northeastern Nigeria that has repeatedly been attacked by Boko Haram jihadists, local residents said.

Residents in Zanzibar were in a state of panic after three explosions hit different places in Unguja Island. The police have confirmed the incidents.

Two blasts rocked bus stations in embattled northern Nigeria on Tuesday, killing at least 27 people, as violence continues to rage less than five weeks ahead of general elections.
