Opposition vows to block bills it terms as controversial, faulty

When the government tabled three bills on energy for debate in Parliament under a certificate of urgency, the move was strongly opposed by the opposition, industry stakeholders and civil society organisations (CSOs).

Nigeria's main opposition party calls on its MPs to block all legislation including the 2014 budget until the "rule of law" is restored in the country.
