PCCB probes Sh10bn bus terminal project

More than 800 vendors have invaded the newly opened Nane Nane bus terminal located at RRM area and distributed business spaces among them.

 In what has been seen a rare and bold move, the government has intervened and prevented Iringa municipal authorities from having a bus terminal built at Igumbilo on environmental grounds.

The district commissioner here, Mr Paul Mzindakaya, has directed the police to ensure that all buses enter the temporary bus terminal in Lamadi town to facilitate collection of levies.

If all went well, the Dar es Salaam City Council (DCC) will start the construction of the up-country bus terminal at Mbezi-Mwisho in July this year, but this highly depends on granting of the loan from the Tanzania Investment Bank (TIB).
