I recently met a 10-year old girl -- Nyambura Kagwanja -- from Kenya at an inter-generational dialogue on Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance. Nyambura was very clear of what she wants to be in future -- president of Kenya, nothing less. She told me she is qualified, educated, loyal to her country and most importantly passionate about Africa.

Leading Jamaican contemporary author Erna Brodber will join South African filmmaker Xoliswa Sithole, and Tanzanian activist Richard Mabala on what is being billed as a difficult and constructive dialogue on xenophobia in the African diaspora.

Taking place during the Zanzibar International Film Festival, the dialogue is timely given the recent violent attacks in South Africa and the Dominican Republic’s Supreme Court ruling, adversely affecting Haitian descendants.
