Tanzania is in final stages of drafting a private sector development policy and strategy which seeks to create a conducive business environment among businesses.

President Jakaya Kikwete and senior government officials are scheduled to meet members of the business community on October 2 and deliberate on matters that affect growth of businesses.

The private sector in Tanzania wants a stable and predictable regulatory environment which will enable investors, operators and customers to make long-term decisions with confidence.

Although Tanzania’s economy has been growing at around 7 per cent over the past 10 years, its benefits are yet to trickle down to the majority of people.
