Samia claims plot to disrupt October poll

CCM is set to officially endorse and announce names of its cadres who will contest for parliamentary and civic positions in the October 25 General Election.

As 42 days remain before the General Election, the National Electoral Commission (NEC) yesterday announced that it has started receiving and distributing voting materials to various district councils in the country.

>A day after Zanzibar’s First Vice President, Mr Seif Sharrif Hamad, raised a red flag over what his party, CUF, claimed was a plot to rig the October elections in favour of the ruling CCM, Zanzibar Electoral Commission (ZEC) has hit back, saying the CUF leader was deliberately misleading the public.
