The International Criminal Court (ICC) has given South Africa more time to explain why it defied an order to arrest Sudanese leader Omar al Bashir when he was in the country in June.

South Africa's currency falls close to a record low a day after Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene was sacked, Reuters news agency reports.
