Tanzania still exports gold-laden sand to Japan, says agency

Residents of Ntondo Village in Lindi Region have called for government intervention in their dispute with Pack, a mining company they suspect of smuggling out of the country tonnes of sand believed to contain minerals.

 Exports declined by 1.4 per cent in the year ending February this year, the Bank of Tanzania (BoT) has said.
