Tazara resumes Dar-Tunduma services

The Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (Tazara) has suspended its operations between Dar es Salaam and Tunduma following a workers’ strike that started on Monday.

>The unending financial problems that have been afflicting the Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (Tazara) have led to a total suspension of all train operations between Dar es Salaam and New Kapiri-Mposhi from Monday this week until further notice.

>The Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (Tazara) announced on Wednesday the resumption of cross-border passenger train operations suspended in August, this year.

Tanzania Zambia Railways Authority will operate the cross-border routes separately following an agreement by the partner governments to each take care of its side of the rail network.

Dar court issues arrest warrant for Tazara boss

THE Kisutu Resident Magistrate's Court in Dar es Salaam has ordered the arrest of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) Managing Director, Ronald Phiri, for failure to satisfy a decree for payment of 55m/- to a plaintiff, George Kitolero.
