TFDA seizes Sh135m in fake drugs and cosmetics

The Tanzania Food and Drug Authority (TFDA) in the Lake Zone has impounded prohibited cosmetics and fake foods  valued at more than Sh27 million.

People have a natural tendency towards self-destruction, according to psychologists. This maxim is amply demonstrated by the way some of our people use products that are known to be a threat to their health.

THE prosecution has completed the investigations into the alleged fake ARV drugs case involving Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Chairman, Dar es Salaam Region, Ramadhani Madabida and five others, pending at Kisutu Resident Magistrate's Court.

The Tanzania Food and Drugs Authority (TFDA) has said there is a need to review the country’s Food, Drugs, and Cosmetics Act of 2003 in order to strengthen the fight on importation and circulation of products that are not suitable for human consumption.
