Thai bank loans may grow more than 2% this year -c.bank

>The Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA) will lend Sh150 billion more to its customers next year as the financial entity wants to meet the growing demand for loans across a spectrum of clients.

Farming stakeholders have reservations about the government plans to instruct the Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) to channel loans to savings and credit cooperative societies (Saccos).

>Sh25 billion has been offered to Tanzanians as mortgage loans by Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA) since 2007.

>CRDB Bank plans to start offering loans to Savings and Credit Cooperatives (Saccos) in the country in a bid to increase financial inclusion by reaching more people in the country.

East African Cooperation minister Harrison Mwakyembe has advised local authorities to formulate strong feasible proposals that will easily win the hearts of commercial banks in the endeavour to hasten the speed of the development in their areas.

The Tanzania Agriculture Development Bank (TADB) will start issuing loans next week with Iringa-based small scale farmers being the first beneficiaries.
