There were never good old days in Africa and there are none now

First, a man must be upfront. It is easy to write an article like this if you are not living in the Central African Republic (CAR), South Sudan, Cairo, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), or northern Nigeria, to name just a few of the strife-torn or terror-besieged African locations.

 As citizens, we record in our memories what is happening in the Constituent Assembly (CA) and at the end of the day, we will come up with a conclusion if the Constitution to be achieved will be useful to us and the country in general.

Effective means of collecting taxes is still a big challenge facing many African countries -- often caused by improper taxation systems and lack of transparency among businesses.

The Heads of State and Government of the African countries participating in the APRM process will meet in Addis Ababa today on the margins of the 24th AU Summit. The theme of this year's meeting will be "2015 Year of Women Empowerment and Development towards Agenda 2063" which is in line with APRM's thematic objective of promotion of women empowerment and gender equality.
