Ukawa up in arms against Police over Chadema ex-leader’s body

The coalition of opposition parties, Ukawa, yesterday called for the National Electoral Commission’s urgent intervention to stop what it sees as a deliberate plan by state authorities and security organs to stop them campaigning for the October General Election.

Some Chadema members and officials in Mbeya Region have complained about the composition of the list of individuals set to be appointed as special seats MPs, claiming there was an element of favouritism in the names released last week.
