US pushes South Sudan rivals to talk

A face-to-face meeting between South Sudan's rival politicians is likely to take place on Friday, UN chief Ban Ki-moon says on a trip to Juba.

South Sudan's government and rebels are to sign a ceasefire deal to end the month-long conflict shortly, mediators in Ethiopia say.

Both sides in South Sudan's conflict are stockpiling weapons despite a peace deal signed in August, United Nations experts say.
