Vote rigging intolerable, CUF warns ruling party

President Museveni on Friday told a meeting of party MPs at Kyankwanzi that there are emerging cliques in the ruling National Resistance Movement but that those involved would be defeated.

The Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) secretary general, Mr Abdulrahman Kinana, has urged Members of Parliament through the ruling party to ensure that they visit their constituencies from time to time so that they can address people’s problems .

Dar es Salaam. The long wait for CCM’s six presidential hopefuls, who were banned from conducting campaigns to vie for the top job, is yet to be over.

The ruling party, CCM, is likely to face stiff opposition from Civic United Front (CUF) as tension heightens here ahead of the local government elections on December 14.

The Civic United Front (CUF) youth wing (Juvicuf), has expressed its dismay over what it termed as intimidation, underestimation and segregation done by the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) against Ukawa members in the ongoing Constituent Assembly.
