Why Mkuya should have resisted raising fuel tax
Finance Minister Saada Mkuya had every reason to resist the allure of increasing taxes on petroleum products. Presenting the 2015/16 Budget to the National Assembly on Thursday last week, she raised tax on petroleum products – a decision that will fuel further adjustments in the prices of petroleum products on July 1.
