Woman in Barclays ‘robbery’ seized

>Seven persons including two managers of Barclays Bank were yesterday charged with two counts of conspiracy and armed robbery of Sh390.2 million, $55,000 and euros 2,150.

Two police officers were yesterday brought to court in connection with last month’s theft of nearly Sh500 million at a Barclays Bank branch in the city.

The Citizen can reveal today how a convict at the Ukonga prison reportedly took part in the now infamous ‘robbery’ of nearly Sh500 million from the Kinondoni branch of Barclays bank.

Last week’s “robbery” at Barclays Bank’s Kinondoni branch, where armed gangsters reportedly grabbed Sh300 million,was faked,The Citizen can authoritatively report.

>Barclays Bank has closed its Kinondoni branch in the city indefinitely after a robbery. The bank’s public relations officer, Ms Neema Rose, said it would remain closed as investigations were carried out.
