The committee appointed to review the Constituent Assembly draft standing orders boasts several law heavyweights, and CA members should have faith in it, according to committee chairman Costa Mahalu.

>The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has dropped an appeal against the acquittal of former Tanzanian ambassador to Italy Prof Costa Ricky Mahalu, who faced charges to do with the Sh2.5 billion loss in the alleged bogus sale of Tanzania’s embassy in Rome.

Many Tanzanians first knew him after he was charged with abuse of office in a case that eventually ended in his acquittal after dragging on for several years.
