District moves to eradicate illiteracy

Although some progress has been made in the fight against malaria in Tanzania, the disease is still a threat. It kills about 60,000 people annually, 80 per cent of them being children under the age of five.

>While to a broad section of the population a question on poverty remains a big puzzle, some people have attributed the situation to poor planning, mismanagement and grand corruption.
