The British High Commissioner to Tanzania, Ms Diana Melrose, said that more than half of the citizens in the Commonwealth are under the age of 25; therefore providing them with quality education will not only improve their lives, but also enable them to contribute to the development of their countries and the Commonwealth at large.

The government has launched an e-learning programme that intends to cover more than 2,000 primary schools countrywide. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education programme was launched by the permanent secretary in the ministry of Education and Vocational Training, Prof Sifuni Mchome at the ICT in education exhibition that kicked off in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
