EAC ‘too weak’ to intervene in Burundi, says law body

>After years of fighting everyone believed that Burundi will be the last country to plunge into internal clashes in East Africa. But it seems that those who thought so are mistaken and Burundi is now proving them wrong.

New York.  UN officials are making plans to rush peacekeepers from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Burundi if violence spirals out of control there, diplomats said Wednesday.

With two days to go before voting day, the  East Africa Law Society (EALS) has warned against disenfranchisement of eligible voters, saying it can mar the entire electoral process.
