At least 80 people killed in bomb blasts in Nigeria's Borno state
Three bomb blasts in the state capital Maiduguri around 7:30 p.m. (1830 GMT) left at least 54 people dead and 90 injured. Around two hours later, two bombs exploded at a checkpoint some 135 km away at a market in the town of Monguno.

Troubled BG Group sinks into Q4 loss
BG Group sank into the red in the fourth quarter, hit by a vast writedown on its activities in Egypt and the United States, the British energy firm said yesterday. Losses after taxation stood at $1.079 billion (800 million euros) in the three months to December, BG said in a results statement.
