Gatherings are illegal: court
The High Court ruled yesterday that it was illegal for people to gather within and beyond the radius of 200 metres from polling stations, ending a two-week long controversy whether voters were allowed to stay behind after casting their ballots. The court did not specifically bar voters to keep a 200-metre distance from polling centres but insisted Section 104 (1) prohibited any person from holding a meeting on election day regardless of the radius in metres.
