Why writing has lost out
Recent news that the growth of the information and communications technology (ICT) has affected writing skills should be cause for alarm. In the years that have followed the introduction of ICT, Tanzania and the rest of the world have witnessed a clear erosion of language skills that can, to some extent, be blamed on lack of a reading culture. Traditional reading materials such as novels, newspapers and other printed documents have gradually suffered a decline.
