Local banks told to help economic processing zones
The government has asked local financial institutions to join hands in financing development of economic zones planned in the country, calling them the best strategy for sustainable industrialisation.

Tanzanians hold $2.8 billion in local commercial banks
Dodoma. Since Tanzania enacted the Foreign Exchange Act in 1992 that allowed individuals to keep foreign currencies, Tanzanians now hold $2.8 billion in foreign currencies deposited in local commercial banks, according to the Bank of Tanzania.
