Tanzanians hold $2.8 billion in local commercial banks

Dodoma. Since Tanzania enacted the Foreign Exchange Act in 1992 that allowed individuals to keep foreign currencies, Tanzanians now hold $2.8 billion in foreign currencies deposited in local commercial banks, according to the Bank of Tanzania.
