NEC shelves voter listing in Dar, Coast

>The National Electoral Commission (NEC) has released a new voter registration timetable that will be carried out by Biometric Voter Registration (BVR).

The National Electoral Commission (NEC) has postponed the Biometric Voters Registration (BVR) exercise, which was set to commence on May 5, this year in Mbeya region until further notice.

Dar es Salaam/Nachingwea/Mbeya. The biometric voter registration in Nachingwea Urban Council was cancelled after 12 of the 14 kits sent there failed to work, it has emerged.

Technological advancement is supposed to represent good news by making life easier and happier for mankind. It also promotes efficiency and curbs fraud. It is deeply upsetting then that, only four months or so to the General Election, the voter registration process is mired in controversy and, of all things, in a technology issue.
