Some Constituent Assembly (CA) committees on Thursday commended the work done by the disbanded Constitution Review Commission (CRC) and they made only few changes to some chapters that they discussed.

The Tanzania Gender Networking Programme (TGNP) and the Pentecostal Churches of Tanzania (PCT) have expressed dismay over the picking of 201 nominees by President Jakaya Kikwete to form the Constituent Assembly scheduled to commence on February 18.

The presidential term under the new Constitution should be extended to seven years instead of the current five years, some members of the Constituent Assembly (CA) have proposed.
