NRM Caucus did not sack Mbabazi, says Museveni

A motion calling upon Tororo NRM district delegates to pass a resolution to sack Mr Amama Mbabazi as secretary general of the party was flatly rejected by the members.

The Lord Mayor of Kampala, Mr Erias Lukwago, has declared the NRM caucus proposal that seeks among other things, to have his position elected amongst the councillors instead of general adult suffrage as unconstitutional.

President Museveni has appointed Information minister Rose Namayanja to head a six-member team to popularise government programmes.

President Museveni on Friday told a meeting of party MPs at Kyankwanzi that there are emerging cliques in the ruling National Resistance Movement but that those involved would be defeated.
