Oil sector to create about 100,000 jobs

Although Tanzania’s economy has been growing at around 7 per cent over the past 10 years, its benefits are yet to trickle down to the majority of people.

Up to 700,000 job opportunities are set to be created in 2014/15 fiscal year, minister for Labour and Employment Gaudensia Kabaka told Parliament yesterday.

I was most consternated by the route which the Tanzania Govt. of President Jakaya Kikwete has chosen to take in efforts to root out poaching which threatens to leave the country without elephants in a decade or so hence!
