Overnight attacks in Burundi’s capital leave at leats 39 dead

A senator from north-east Nigeria tells the BBC that 135 civilians have been killed by gunmen there since Wednesday.

At least four people were reportedly killed on Wednesday night in Bujumbura during gun battles between the police and an unidentified armed group, a police spokesman said.
