Owners of SMEs all smiles as oil pipeline project launched

 Tanzania and Uganda are optimistic that their $3.5 billion crude oil pipeline deal stands to benefit all the economies of the East African region.

The East African Community hopes to secure a $1.8 million (about Sh3.9 billion on the prevailing exchange rate) funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB) to finance a feasibility study for the Mbarara-Mwanza-Isaka-Dar es Salaam oil pipeline.

>The constructing of a 542km natural gas pipeline from Mtwara to Dar es Salaam will be completed by the end of next month.
